- My Favorite Highway: Nothing's bigger than love.
- Jamie: Not even the earth?
- Amy: No. The earth was created by God. God is bigger than the earth, and God is love.
- Jamie: Wow, that's deep.
- Not exactly how it went, but it works.
This entry is about a song idea Amy and I once had. It’s slightly confusing but I’ll try to explain it the best I can. Some of you may know that there was a time when we wanted to start a band (which would have been difficult since neither of us play any instruments). One night we started discussing what our songs would be about. We wanted to write a song about something we had been through, that way the song would have real meaning. Unfortunately we both have very boring lives, and the only thing we’ve really experienced is going to concerts. But then we realized how weird that would be. Imagine going to a concert and hearing the band playing a song about being at a concert. So if the band was being the audience, that would make the people they were watching the band. Then I had the idea that at some point during the song there should be a part for the audience to sing. So that would make the audience the band, but the band is being the audience. And the band would be watching the audience be the band, which would make the band the audience, but the audience is being the band. So the song would have the band as the audience being the band and the audience as the band being the audience. And if you managed to follow all that I’m amazed. I’m one of the people who thought it up and even I find that explanation confusing. And if you didn’t understand that, don’t worry you’re probably not the only one, and I will happily explain it again to anyone who asks
So this will be a short post, but it will be on a very important, yet very over-looked topic. Waffle Abuse! A waffle’s whole life is abuse. Even before it’s a waffle, just to make the batter you have to beat it up. Then it gets burned on a waffle iron, just to become a waffle. Next it gets drowned in butter and syrup, before being chopped into tiny little bits. Finally it gets chewed, and digested. But the real problem is, the only way to stop the abuse is to stop making waffles, thus there is nothing to abuse. But since waffles taste so amazing, I know I’ll never be able to stop eating them, so I guess it’s up to everyone else to stop the abuse. Good luck!
Hello everyone and thanks for taking the time to read our ramblings. For our first real entry I figured we needed to start with the first thing Amy and I ever contemplated, which is the life of a snowflake. I know this sounds odd but if you just keep reading I think you’ll get a very good idea of not only what this blog is about, but also how our minds work. So now back to our topic, snowflakes.
If you think of them as water, then they live forever, just constantly changing forms. But if you think of them as snowflakes, being born when they freeze and dying when they melt, then they have a very short and horrible life. Their entire existence is determined by when and where they land. Just think of how many snowflakes die because they were born on a day when it’s barely cold enough for them to live. Then if they live long enough to land somewhere, most places they land they get abused. If they land on a car they get brushed off. If they land on a sidewalk they get blown or shoveled. The worst is if they land on the street, then they get run over, plowed, and then salted. I think the only way for them to have a good life is if they are born during a very bad snow storm in the middle on winter, so it’s cold enough for them to live for a while, and to land in the middle of a yard or some where people won’t be walking, and to land underneath a bunch of other snowflakes, so when it finally starts to warm up they don’t melt right away.
I could keep going but I think that fully explains my reasoning why I think a snowflakes life is so horrible. So that’s all for now but keep checking back to read more about our views on things.
Welcome to our lovely blog. Here, you will read some of the logic behind the different things we contemplate. We are always up for suggestions on what to contemplate, so if you have any ideas, feel free to contribute. Our goal is to post at least once a week with a new topic. Like it says in our description, we contemplate anything from snowflakes to waffles.
In addition to our contemplations, we might throw other random posts in there too, but that is to be expected.
Enjoy :)
